The Oconto Fire Department is a combination fulltime and paid-per-call department operating under the direction of the Police and Fire Commission.  Seven fulltime firefighter/EMTs working in shifts of two, staff the station 24/7.  Fourteen additional paid-per-call members augment the fulltime crew. As part of the larger municipal building, the department operates out of its single station downtown Oconto.
